I seek to transmit through my art, a sense of the divine order, light and consciousness that permeates all of existence.

I believe there are unseen patterns and structures existing in multiple dimensions across multiple universes, surrounding, connecting and influencing everything in the material and non-material realms. My aim as an artist is to capture the essence of those unseen structures and bring them into the visible physical world in the form of light, color, pattern and image.

I’m fascinated by such things as the Fibonacci Sequence expressed in nature, supernova explosions and other wonders of the cosmos, the geometry of sound made visible, the colors and patterns on living organisms and the ever changing play of light, shadow and color across the earth, skies and oceans. I seek to transmit through my art, a sense of the divine order, light and consciousness that permeates all of existence.

I primarily work in acrylic, incorporating diatomaceous earth (DE) mixed with mediums to create heavily textured surfaces with expressive brush strokes adding movement, energy and an organic quality. Color and the vibrational and emotional effect it has on the viewer is an important part of my work, with harmonic and complementary color compositions meticulously built from several layers of paint. I also create digital paintings similar to my acrylic paintings in their many layers of color and texture, as well as detailed digital color drawings that incorporate mathematical and organic patterns from nature.

Shan grew up in Thailand, Hong Kong and Hawaii, traveling the world with her globe-trotting multi-national, artistic parents. The family traveled extensively throughout Asia and Europe due to her parents’ design based business. This early exposure to art, music, design, diverse cultures and world religions helped shape her broad world view, deep spirituality and reverence for nature.

Shan earned her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, with honors and a full scholarship. She and her husband, Daniel Feldman, spent many years in Los Angeles running an award winning graphic design, illustration and art licensing studio with several employees and national and international clients. Despite early successes in the commercial world, her true passion has always been creating her fine art. In 2022 Shan and Daniel sold their house and business and moved to Santa Fe, NM, where Shan happily focuses full time on her fine art practice. Her art has been exhibited nationally and is included in many private collections.
