The second in my Fibonacci Series, exploring the Fibonacci Mathematical Sequence that underlies the structure of many plant species. This one uses 8 spirals in one direction and 13 spirals in the other, as seen in some flowers and pinecones. It is not a literal flower, but a study of light and color energy as well as a celebration of the wonder of life. The color pink is associated with the heart chakra and unconditional love. The light at the center is meant to encourage connection to the light within, the same light at the source that connects us all. The perfect mathematics of the Fibonacci Sequence in the painting’s structure contrasts with the organic, imperfect brush strokes mirroring the expression of life as imperfect, organic and seemingly random, yet born out of a perfect mathematical underlying order, just as each petal, leaf, plant, animal or person is unique, imperfect and organic, yet born out of a perfect divine underlying order.
