This sculpture was specifically conceived for Strand Regional Specialty Associates of Myrtle Beach, SC. It depicts the loss of sensory and motor functions of the body. Beginning with touch, the symbolic ribbon of loss passes over the fingers, up the arm and around the hand to curtail vision and hearing. It descends the spinal cord, over the distorted hand, the genitals and ends on a deformed foot. The figure is caught as it vainly tries to search without sight and rise from total entrapment. The base is a representation of the glial cell from the central nervous system.
