Scott HovisVeil of Silence, 2025Acrylic on Canvas30" x 40"Sold
There’s a language that lives between light and shadow — a place where emotion isn’t spoken, only felt.
This piece lives in that in-between.
She doesn’t look away; she looks within.
The veil isn’t to hide — it’s to reveal what words can’t touch.
Every brushstroke is a whisper, every layer a confession.
Silence doesn’t always mean absence. Sometimes, it’s where truth breathes the loudest. -

I painted in the raw edge of exhaustion, when sleep deprivation blurs the line between reality and dream. This piece was born from the urgency to break free of comfort, to let instinct guide each stroke instead of control. Layers of heavy texture and fractured flesh tones reveal the vulnerability of a mind caught between collapse and clarity.
It’s a portrait of persistence — of pushing past limits until something unfamiliar and true emerges.
